Important update: Closure of the bcu Retirement Savings Account
After careful consideration and following a detailed review of the Retirement Savings Account (RSA) and where it fits in the superannuation market, we have made the decision to discontinue the RSA offered by bcu.
What this means for you if you are in the CONTRIBUTION phase
If you are in the contribution phase of the product you will no longer be able to make contributions to your RSA after 20 May 2022.
Unless you arrange for the balance (if you have one) of your RSA to be transferred to an alternative superannuation provider by 10 June 2022, your account may be transferred to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
What this means for you if you are in the PENSION phase
If you are in the pension phase of the product we strongly encourage you to consider whether there is an alternative superannuation provider that meets your needs before 10 June 2022. Alternatively, if you meet a condition of release you may choose to withdraw your funds rather than having them rolled over to another provider.
Any accounts that have not been transferred to an alternative provider or withdrawn by 10 June 2022 may be transferred to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The ATO will hold your funds in your name and will actively seek to consolidate your transferred RSA balance with any other active superannuation accounts you may hold. They may contact you as part of this process.
To help you make this decision we recommend you visit moneysmart.gov.au or seek independent financial advice. An independent financial advisor will tailor advice to your circumstances.
Once you have identified an alternative superannuation provider, your new provider can make a Rollover Request. This request will come directly to us and it will be processed within 5 business days.
