The Community Cares Program

Because you care about your community.
and so do we.

Nobody knows what our communities need more than the people who live in them.

That’s why we’ve developed the Community Cares program, an initiative led by our branch network to support local people and causes.

We believe that by giving back to our communities, we can make a positive difference and create lasting relationships.

Community Cares enables us to support local organisations, events, and individuals that align with one or more of the five key support areas of our Community Engagement Framework:

Health and wellness

Financial wellbeing

Social housing and homelessness

Environment and conservation

Arts and leisure

How we support our communities

There are several ways the Community Cares program can support our members and communities, including:

  • Sponsoring local events, activities, or initiatives in our key support areas.
  • Donations of money or goods to local causes or organisations that need our help.
  • Volunteering our time and skills to local projects or services that benefit our communities.

How you can get involved

If you’re a BCU Bank member and you know a person or organisation that fits one of our five key support areas and could use some support, you can nominate them for Community Cares by filling out this form or contacting your local branch for more information.

All submissions will be reviewed quarterly at the Community Cares forum and vetted by the committee. If your opportunity is selected for Community Cares support, your local branch manager work with you to plan and activate the opportunity. You may also need to engage with our brand and marketing team if the opportunity involves any media exposure, requires marketing collateral, or needs branding guidance.
