How to open a Concession Account
What you’ll need
To open a Concession Account, you’ll need to:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Live in Australia with a current residential address
- Be applying as an individual (not a business or association)
- Hold an eligible Commonwealth Government concession card. We accept:
- Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
- Pensioner Concession Card
- Health Care Card
- Department of Veteran's Affairs Card (DVA)
When visiting a branch to open a Concession Account, make sure you bring:
- Your eligible concession card
- The identification documents required to open an account (e.g. Australian driver’s licence, passport, or other acceptable ID)

Don’t forget! If you’re opening a Concession Account in joint names, both applicants must bring their own eligible concession card .

You should receive your physical Visa Debit card by mail within 7-10 business days.
If you've recently opened a new account online, you can set up your digital card straight away and use it with the digital wallet on your smartphone.
