A brief history of BCU Bank
BCU Bank was founded in the early 1970s by a group of local business owners – mainly banana farmers from the north coast of New South Wales – to provide a community-focused, realistic alternative to the big banks.
As we grew, we became known for our strong commitment to the local community. Fast forward over 50 years later, and we're still supporting our customers and communities from Port Macquarie to the Sunshine Coast.
While we've grown over the years, we'll never forget where we came from. We'll continue to reinvest our profits to improve our products and services, support our local communities, and stay true to our roots – offering customer-focused financial solutions, and making a positive impact locally.
