Wavelength - brought to you by bcu

With so many Australian families living by the water, ocean safety is so important. Every day surf lifesavers across Australia rescue 30 people and conduct 451 preventative actions every hour.

Surf clubs like Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) have been making our oceans a safer place by providing the training and coordination needed to ensure their beaches remain patrolled. The Maroochydore SLSC aim to provide the safest possible flagged patrol area, while also conducting regular surveillance patrols to monitor situations outside of their flagged area.

The Maroochydore SLSC also run a junior nippers program for kids aged between 5-13 years old. Nippers is all about teaching kids valuable water safety and lifesaving skills, and is a great way for them to have fun and make friends at the same time.

bcu has been proud to be supporting the Maroochydore nippers program for the past three years, and we can’t wait for another great season!

The Maroochydore nippers season kicks off on the first Sunday of the September school holidays. If you have been thinking about signing your kids up, now is the perfect time, or alternatively to find your nearest surf club visit the official Surf Life Saving website.
