Round up your payments and save

Pay&Save

Automatically save money when you spend money by rounding up your transactions to the nearest $1, $5, or $10 – it's that simple!

How do you pay and save at the same time?

Set up

You’ll need a BCU Access Account for rounding up your card purchases as well as an iSaver or Bonus Saver account for your rounded up savings.

Switch on

Activate Pay&Save in the BCU Bank app to automatically build your savings.

Save

Watch your everyday purchases round up to the nearest $1, $5, or $10, and hit your savings account every time you spend.

Sound easy?

Pay&Save is the digital equivalent of tossing your loose coins (or small notes!) in a jar. It soon adds up because every time you pay, you’ll save!

You’ll be on your way to buying that pair of shoes, a weekend away, or adding to your house deposit in no time at all.

Let’s look at a hypothetical day’s spending and round it up to the nearest $5:

You buy It costs Round up You save
Lunch $10.50 $15.00 $4.50
Fuel $60.10 $65.00 $4.90
Dinner groceries $26.90 $30.00 $3.10
Movie tickets $23.00 $25.00 $2.00

Total transferred to your BCU savings account

$14.50

Not ready to start rounding up to the nearest $5 just yet? Round it up to the nearest $1 instead – if you save only $2 a day using Pay&Save, that’s $730 a year!

Is Pay & Save for me?

If you struggle to get into the habit of saving money then Pay&Save is for you. It's automatic, convenient, and you'll likely even forget about it until you see the difference it has made to your BCU savings account balance.

If you are already good at budgeting and saving it’s an easy way to save even more.

How does it work?

Once you've set up Pay&Save, use your Access Account Visa Debit card for your everyday purchases to start saving.

A few things to note:

  • Eligible savings account are the iSaver and Bonus Saver.
  • You can direct your savings into another BCU member's account. For example, a parent can have the rounded amount transferred to a child’s savings account.
  • The round up will only occur if there is an available balance at the end of the day.
  • Pay&Save is not available on two-to-sign accounts.
