Existing customers
Already have business accounts with BCU Bank? You have good taste. To open another business account, you can call us on 1300 228 228 or visit one of our branches during business hours.
Open your account in person at a branch
We’d love to see you in person. Visit your nearest BCU Bank branch to open an account.
You'll need to:
- have a valid ABN,
- be a sole trader, partnership, company, association, SMSF, trust, or not-for-profit,
- be operating in Australia with an Australian address, and
- bring your Australian driver licence or a valid Australian passport.
New customers
If you’re new to BCU Bank, you'll need a registered Australian Business Number (ABN).
If you are opening a company membership you will need an Australian Company Number (ACN), and a registered business name may also be applicable.
An ASIC extract that validates the identification of the business and its directors will be obtained prior to opening the business membership.
Personal identification is required for all signing directors and beneficial owners, so you will need:
- your Australian driver's licence OR a valid passport
- one form of primary ID without your photo (eg. your birth certificate or citizenship papers)
- one form of secondary ID (eg. your most recent power bill)
Don't have your photo ID?
Alternative identification documents are available for anyone who:
- is under 18 years of age.
- is a non-resident.
- doesn't have an Australian photo identity document.

Got a question about business bank accounts?
You should receive your physical Visa Debit card by mail within 7-10 business days.
If you've recently opened a new account online, you can set up your digital card straight away and use it with the digital wallet on your smartphone.
You can use Bank@Post at participating Australia Post offices Australia-wide to deposit cash or cheques, or make a withdrawal from your account.
You will need to have a BCU Bank Visa Debit card in order to perform these transactions.
Fees and charges apply to some Bank@post transactions.
You can link your BCU Bank accounts with accounting software packages MYOB and Xero.
After you have signed up with your preferred provider they will contact us to allow access to your accounts.
If you have any queries please follow up with your software provider.
To get your bank transactions imported into Xero, you’ll need to add your bank account into Xero by following the steps on the Xero website.
Once submitted through Xero, keep an eye on your Secure Mail, we’ll be in touch here if we need anything further from you.
Profiles are a feature in internet banking that will make it easier to manage your money by clearly separating your personal banking accounts from those connected to your non-personal accounts if you are a signatory on a business, club or trust.
With profiles, you’ll be presented with a screen when you login to choose whether you want to see your personal accounts or view your business, association, club or trust accounts that you have signatory access to.
You can also personalise your payee list for each profile under Transfer/Pay > Manage Payees.
