bcu Disaster Relief Package


bcu recognises the difficulties that our members may be facing during this time of emergency.

The safety and welfare of our staff and members is our number one priority as we continue to work with our members across the affected regions to provide support where we can.

General relief information for members to assist those affected by the floods in NSW is outlined below.

Disaster Recovery Payment:

$1,000.00 for eligible persons via Centrelink. Apply by phoning 180 22 66.

Disaster Relief Grants:

If you aren’t insured, Disaster Relief Grants are available which can help with replacing appliances or buildings.

Apply by phoning Disaster Welfare Services on 1800 018 444.

bcu Disaster Relief Package:

In addition to the above Government Disaster Relief options, bcu encourages affected members to contact bcu to discuss eligibility for the bcu Disaster relief package.

The bcu Disaster Relief Package includes:


  • Early Redemption of Retail Term Deposits without penalty
  • Overdraw Savings Account for maximum of 30 days (zero fees or interest)

Longer term

  • Assistance for members with existing facilities facilities
  • Establishment fee waiver for members applying for new personal lending
  • Switch fee waiver for members who need to restructure their home loans
