BCU Bank took centre stage at this year's Tweed Business Awards, reinforcing its commitment to the local business community by sponsoring two pivotal award categories.
The annual Tweed Business Awards shines a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals across the Tweed Shire, highlighting their contributions to the region's economic growth, innovation, and enterprise.
With 220 nominees across 22 categories, this year’s event drew significant attention as winners from each category now move forward to the Business NSW Regional Business Awards in September, with the potential to reach the state-level competition in October.
BCU Bank’s Business Banking division proudly sponsored the Excellence in Sustainability award and the Outstanding Employer of Choice award in multiple subcategories.
The event provided BCU with a unique opportunity to engage with the local business community, as we continue to establish our presence in the Tweed region.
BCU Bank Business Banking Relationship Manager Carol Alback said the sponsorships align closely with BCU's core values and provided a unique opportunity to engage with local businesses.
“The awards encourage local businesses to think critically about their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities, and we're proud to support initiatives that drive this forward,” Carol said.
As BCU continues to engage with the community through various initiatives, participation in the Tweed Business Awards underscores our dedication to fostering growth and sustainability among local businesses.
The Excellence in Sustainability award was presented to Pasta’bah by Woodland Valley Farm, a business that has demonstrated a strong commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and implementing sustainable practices over the past year.
Meanwhile, Potager Kitchen took home the Outstanding Employer of Choice award for businesses with fewer than 20 employees, a recognition of its innovative approaches to employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.
Motor Scout won the same award for businesses with more than 20 employees, underscoring its efforts in creating a positive work environment.
