For Belinda, banking has always been about people first. With more than 25 years’ experience across Australia’s banking sector, Belinda brings a calm, considered and relationship-driven approach to her role as a Commercial Relationship Manager at BCU Bank. Based in Queensland, she works closely with business members to understand what they’re building, what matters most to them, and how the right banking support can help them achieve long-term success.
Belinda joined BCU just over a year ago after spending 21 years with Suncorp, building a career across property finance, agribusiness, corporate banking and commercial lending. That breadth of experience allows her to step into conversations with confidence and context, understanding not just the numbers, but the people and decisions behind them.
Relationships that matter the most
A defining moment in her career was completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors course, which strengthened her strategic and governance mindset. “It’s a perspective I can now bring into every client relationship, helping business owners think beyond today’s challenges and plan for sustainable growth.”
At the heart of Belinda’s approach is partnership. She believes the strongest outcomes come from listening first and shaping solutions around what clients are genuinely trying to achieve. Over the years, she’s particularly enjoyed working with family and multi-generational businesses supporting succession planning and helping the next generation step into leadership with confidence.
That relationship-led philosophy aligns naturally with customer-owned banking. “Our customers are members, and that sits at the heart of every decision,” Belinda says.
Belinda’s industry insight
Currently specialising in property finance, Belinda keeps a close eye on the Southeast Queensland market. Despite rising costs and ongoing supply challenges in the construction industry, she says “demand remains strong, driven by population growth, major infrastructure investment and the momentum building towards the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.” With the 10-year Bank Bill Swap Rate yield already up more than 50 basis points in recent months, Belinda notes that another interest rate tightening cycle in 2026 is firmly on the radar for many businesses.
Connection to local community
Outside the office, Belinda is deeply involved in the Ashgrove community, volunteering with her two boys’ local cricket and AFL clubs and playing an active role in the networks that matter to local families and businesses. She’s also completed an impressive 10 Noosa Triathlons and has been involved in Tour de Cure for the past five years, cycling to support cancer research. And while she once claimed to dislike cricket, years spent on the sidelines have turned her into a passionate supporter with a surprisingly sharp understanding of the game (and the score).
For Belinda, being on the ground matters. Local knowledge, real conversations and strong relationships allow her to understand what’s driving her clients’ decisions, both in business and in life.
With deep industry experience, strong local insight and a genuine commitment to community, Belinda is a trusted partner for BCU Bank’s business members, focused on building relationships that last.
