How do I open a joint account?

New customers

You can open a joint account at your local BCU Bank branch.

Both account holders will need to confirm their identity using one (1) of the following:

  • Australian driver licence
  • Australian passport

We also recommend having your tax file numbers (TFNs) handy. If you earn more interest than the limit set by the ATO and you haven’t provided your TFN, withholding tax may be deducted from the interest you earn.

Existing customers

If you both already bank with us, you can open your joint account by calling 1300 228 228 or visiting your nearest branch.

If you’d like to set up your account so both account holders need to approve transactions, we’ll need to see you in-branch so you can sign an Authority to Operate form.
