bcu provides modern banking alternative to Port Macquarie locals

Residents in Port Macquarie now have a convenient new banking option with the relocation of the bcu branch to the Port Macquarie CBD.

Located at the Horton Street entrance of the Port Central Shopping Centre, bcu’s Port Macquarie branch highlights the Bank’s dedication to supporting local customers and businesses by being where they are needed most.

General Manager bcu, Michael Ribbens said the relocation was a positive development for bcu’s customers and staff.

“The new branch location will provide the physical presence needed to help us deliver modern and enriching customer experiences to our local customers,” he said.

“The modern branch will provide them with a range of improved facilities including private interview spaces where customers can discuss their banking needs with the bcu team and an internet kiosk for customers to complete their online banking.”

With COVID-19 changing the way many businesses operate, bcu have also taken the opportunity to provide staff with a modern workplace that includes greater digitisation and flexible ways of working to enable them to continue to bring bcu’s unique customer benefits to life.

As a proud customer-owned organisation with a focus on local community banking, bcu exists to support its customers and their communities.

Any profits bcu make are channelled back into supporting customers with competitive products and services and the local communities in which they live.

Located at the Horton Street entrance of the Port Central Shopping Centre, the new branch provides the physical presence needed to help us deliver modern and enriching customer experiences to our local members.

The new branch has a modern, custom designed space with a range of improved facilities such as increased meeting and customer interview spaces, an internet kiosk for members, larger staff lunchroom and new end-of-trip facilities. Pauline Crossley, our longest standing member in the Port Macquarie area, opened the new branch in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday 12 May.

Pauline has been a bcu member for 39 years and said she was very pleased to have been asked to help open the new branch.

“My husband and I joined bcu when we moved from Penrith to Macksville in 1982 and have banked with them ever since,” Pauline said.

“bcu helped us buy our first new car and our first home. My husband even worked at bcu for a while before we bought the farm.

“We’ve had quite the journey with bcu, and I always tell people how wonderful the service and people are.

“I am really happy to see such a beautiful new branch open up. It is going to be much easier for me to do my banking at the branch now that it is in the CBD.”
