Neville Spear Community Grants Program

At BCU, supporting local communities within our regions is something we’re passionate about. We're proud to support local organisations and communities assisting with the recovery from the South-East Queensland and New South Wales flood disaster.

To provide much-needed support to aid the flood recovery, we have directed this quarter’s Neville Spear Community Grant to three organisations helping those directly impacted and in need of assistance.

For this round of the Neville Spear Community Grant, nominations are closed and there will be no voting required. For information on future rounds, we’re currently developing a new community grants framework to be launched in the next financial year.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to all the emergency services and volunteers at the frontline of the flood emergency, and to our members and community for their support.

We have made the donations direct so the funds can get to where they’re needed sooner.

The following causes and groups have received a donation and our collective thanks for their tremendous efforts supporting our communities.

NSW State Emergency Services (SES)

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is the lead agency in the response to floods, storms and tsunamis in NSW. NSW SES is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation with over 9,000 highly skilled and well-trained volunteers providing rescue, first aid and other vital services in emergencies and times of natural and man-made disasters.

More information on the NSW SES can be found on their website.

GIVIT

GIVIT is a not-for-profit that provides trusted support organisations around Australia with what they need to help people right now. 100% of the money received by GIVIT will be used to purchase essential items for people affected by floods in Queensland and New South Wales.

More information on GIVIT can be found on their website.

Rural Aid
