At bcu, supporting local communities within our regions is something we’re passionate about. We know that when organisations work together, groups and our communities will flourish.

Neville Spear Community Grant Initiative

Our Neville Spears Community Grants program is a quarterly initiative that showcases fantastic non-for-profit and community groups across our regions.

Named after bcu’s founding treasurer, Mr Neville Spear, our grants program pays tribute to our heritage and connection with local communities and families.

We celebrate this ongoing relationship by providing $10,000 every 3 months throughout the year to deserving local groups. And it’s up to you, our members, to help determine where the Neville Spear Community Grants are allocated.

Existing bcu members can nominate a group or local charity within the outlined nomination period. bcu will shortlist the top eight nominated groups to be featured on our website for our members to vote for their preferred group.

The top four as voted by our members will receive $1,500 each and the remaining four will receive $1,000 each.

Only bcu members can nominate a group however the group nominated is not required to be a bcu member.

We welcome you to nominate a group all throughout the calendar year. Please make sure to include as much detail as possible in your submission.
