We are currently seeking an experienced Lending Assessor to join our team. As a Lending Assessor working for the P&N Group, you will be responsible for the assessment of consumer (personal loans and credit cards) and mortgage loans for the direct and broker channels of P&N Bank and bcu. The position uses a broad range of administration, communication and problem solving skills to balance the credit requirements of the Bank with the service and quality expectations of lenders, brokers and members.

Your duties will include…

  • Analyse and decision consumer loan applications within your delegated credit authority
  • Submission and follow up of LMI proposals
  • Complete In Progress Checks (IPCs) in line with business targets 
  • Act as a reference point for lender/BDM scenarios and provide ongoing constructive feedback to the lender group via quality log emails, workshops and coaching
  • Work with Lenders, Credit Coaches and Hindsight to minimise and reduce error rates of submissions 
  • Monitor queues to ensure applications are actioned within appropriate timeframes and service standards

To be considered for this role it is expected that you would have … 

  • Experience in reviewing and processing residential lending applications
  • Experience in a support role within a Financial Services environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A strong focus on teamwork and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders
  • A customer centric mindset
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to look for alternative solutions, Intricate knowledge of P&N Bank Lending Policy including Income Loading and Confirmation Procedure, Policy guidelines for our LMI providers, EFT Code of Conduct, The AML/CTF Act, The Privacy Act
  • Mutual Code of Banking Practice, National Consumer Credit Protection Act (NCCPA), The Financial Services Reform Act, Landgate Verification of Identity procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
