Open a term deposit in minutes

Existing members

BCU iBank:

In the main menu go to Apply > Open deposit account.

Select the Term Deposit you wish to apply for and follow the prompts to open your account.

BCU Bank app:

Go to Open account in the left menu. Select the Term Deposit you wish to apply for and follow the prompts.

New members

If you’re new to BCU, the first step is to open a bank account with us. If you’re over 18, this can be done completely online and it only takes a few minutes.

Opening your account online

To open your account online as a new member you’ll need to be:

  • over 18 years of age
  • an individual (not a business or association)
  • an Australian resident with a current Australian residential address

And you’ll need to provide two of the following:

  • a valid Austalian driver's licence
  • an Australian passport
  • a Medicare card (green)

Handy hint: Have your tax file number ready. If you earn more interest than the limit set by the ATO, you need to pay tax. To avoid this, provide your tax file number when applying.

Opening your account in branch

If you don’t already bank with us you’ll need to bring your Australian driver's licence or a valid Australian passport for ID.

    We calculate interest daily by multiplying the balance of your deposit by the fixed interest rate. Interest is paid at maturity for terms under 12 months only. For terms of 12 months or more interest can be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually. Interest can be added to the principal amount, or you can request for it to be credited to your nominated bank account.
