Important information you should read
- A telephone or mobile phone number and email address for each applicant. For joint accounts, the email address may be the same, but you may not receive separate emails. We may use your email address to contact you about your account and provide you with marketing material from time to time. You may opt in or out of receiving marketing material at any time by contacting us on 1300 228 228 or visiting your nearest store or selecting "unsubscribe" on any email we send you.
- A security password - we’ll use this to identify you when you call us.
To verify your identity online, bcu will submit your name, home address and date of birth to an external organisation and if necessary, to credit-reporting agencies who match those details to their records and confirm your identity.
You may also need to provide details of your:
- Driver's Licence
- Medicare card
- Australian passport

Once your application has been approved, we will contact you via phone or sms to give you your new bcu membership and account details.
Collection of Tax File Numbers is authorised, and its use and disclosure are strictly regulated, by the tax laws and Privacy Act. Quotation is not compulsory but tax may be taken out of your interest if you do not quote your Tax File Number or claim an exemption. If you wish to quote your Tax File Number or an exemption you can do so by phoning bcu on 1300 653 555 or visiting your nearest bcu store.
