Developed by Sydney-based Symbiotic Technologies, TrustDefender is an innovative breakthrough in security technology that works by locking out online criminals and keeping the user’s personal and financial information secure while transacting online.

How does TrustDefender work?

TrustDefender goes beyond traditional anti-virus software by scanning and evaluating all the programs running on your system and isolating those that are unknown.

TrustDefender acts like a force field. Once activated, TrustDefender creates an encryption 'shield' that temporarily isolates the internet banking session between the member’s computer and BCU’s server, and enables members to conduct their internet banking with improved safety.

All unknown software and programs including viruses, malware, Trojans or spyware are temporarily suspended, disallowing everything except the iBank internet transaction to take place.

Second to this, a Gauranteed Authentication Program (G.A.P.) authenticates the security certificate on iBank's server ensuring you aren't on a Phishing, or spoof site.

How do I get the software?

BCU members can download the TrustDefender software from the login page of BCU’s iBank free of charge.



Information, including full instructions on installing the program, is provided. Installation does not take long, and once installed, TrustDefender protects your personal information while transacting online via iBank.

The software downloaded from iBank only applies to BCU's internet banking service. If you wish to have the same level of security on your PC while transacting with other financial institutions, you will need to purchase TRUSTDEFENDER GOLD.

BCU is providing TrustDefender to all registered BCU iBank users … FREE OF Charge!

When do I use TrustDefender?

Once installed, TrustDefender is activated and will provide security for BCU members every time you log on and transact via BCU’s iBank internet banking.


I’m not registered for iBank internet banking. What do I do?

If you’re a BCU member and would like to register for iBank internet banking, ring BCU Direct on 1300 228 228 or ask at your local branch . iBank has not only been described as extremely easy to use, it is also free to BCU members and now offers one of the highest levels of internet protection in Australia.

I am not a BCU member. What do I do?

If you don’t currently do your banking with BCU, this is just another great reason to consider switching to BCU.
