BCU Chief Executive, Lyndon Kingston, said exposing young drivers to the reality of road safety and accident aftermath was an important step in combating peer pressure, drink driving, driver distraction and other preventable causes of tragedy on our roads. He said the community credit union was keen to support a program that improved safety awareness while also addressing the issue of vehicle ownership, finance and insurance choices. As a regional credit union with 23 branches between Port Macquarie and the Gold Coast BCU staff and members are unfortunately often directly affected by accidents on the Pacific Highway and rural roads “This program is just one way to try and make our roads a safer place, which is why BCU is so keen to support this initiative,” Mr Kingston said.
