Apply now for farming grant
Friday, 01 October 2010 00:00

Developed by BCU to support and grow success, innovation and employment in agricultural pursuits, the grant worth $11,000 is split between two primary producers each year.

Grant recipients are encouraged to use the funds to improve business practice, access new markets, introduce new stock or species or to further their agricultural or business education.

The grant is presented in memory of the late, Bill Ussher, founding Chairman of BCU and the credit union’s first-ever member, recognising his contribution in the organisation’s foundation years.

Past recipients of the grant include a fodder crop producer, sugar cane farmer, tomato grower and a beef producer.

The winner of this year’s grant will receive $7,700, with the runner up receiving $3,300. Imagine the difference a grant for this amount would make to the development of your farming business!

Application forms and details are available on the BCU website at www.bcu.com.au or at any BCU branch. Applications close on December 10, 2010 and the recipients will be announced on February 8, 2011.
